Uncle Bonsai has released 7 compact discs and one cd single. (Three of these recordings are still available on cassette . . . really cheap if you want them.) The group is currently recording a new double-cd, due for release in early 2010.
Classical Guitarist Hilary Field has released two solo CDs, Music of Spain & Latin America and Ballad Stories. In addition, she and vocalist Patrice O'Neill have released two award-winning lullabies CDs: Siente: Night Songs from Around the World and Cantilena: Night Songs from Around the World.
Melding the rich tonal beauty of classical guitar, viola, and violin, Hilary Field and Gwen Franz offer an evocative palette of music that transcends generations and crosses musical boundaries. The lyrical beauty of this music spans from Brazil to Bach, from the elegance of Baroque suites and sonatas, to the colorful and exciting rhythms of Latin and Afro-Brazilian sambas, choros, and tangos.
The duo's debut recording, Airoso, is due to be released in April, 2013.
Christine Lavin continues to find songs hidden everywhere -- in newspaper articles about fireflies, in overheard conversations between pinheads in an airport, watching teenagers compete in the national spelling bee, reading the works of H.L. Mencken. Her songs are sung by Broadway stars Sutton Foster and Betty Buckley, the a cappella darlings The Accidentals, and her lyrics showed up this year in the book THE PLUTO FILES: THE RISE AND FALL OF AMERICA'S FAVORITE PLANET, written by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, director of New York's Hayden Planetarium. Christine's first book, Cold Pizza For Breakfast: A Mem-wha?? was published in 2010, with a foreword written by actor Jeff Daniels.
As The Washington Post says, "Lavin knows how to keep her audience guessing, thinking, and laughing all at the same time."
It's not electric, it's not a band. Electric Bonsai Band, singer/songwriter Andrew Ratshin of Uncle Bonsai and Mel Cooleys fame, has five releases available on Yellow Tail Records.
Singer/Songwriter Patrice O'Neill has a solo release, Elusive, two award-winning lullaby releases with guitarist Hilary Field, Siente: Night Songs from Around the World and Cantilena: Night Songs from Around the World, one release with Mel Cooleys, and is a member of the popular trio Uncle Bonsai . . . she's everywhere!
Matt Price doesn't have the patience to write a screenplay. But give him 3:55 and both your ears and he'll weave a tale as deeply textured as a classic novel or as intricate as a film noir masterpiece. You'll walk away with images that will stick for a lifetime. And a nearly-full tub of popcorn...
Christine Lavin says, "The best new songwriter of 2007... Matt is a really fine poet, but also a terrific singer and guitarist - his style is hard to pidgeon-hole - his songs are like mini-movies, beautifully crafted, like Cheryl Wheeler's, with appeal that crosses all genres..."
Latin grooves, humorous moods, joyous sounds that you wish the advertisers would stop talking over so you could listen to it - and now you can! Be surprised and delighted with a mix of music from the minds and memories of multi-talented Ranch Romance alumni Miles and Karina
"Step into Miles' & Karina's stylish world, where the colors have higher chroma, the weather is studio-lot perfect, and the sound has been preselected and programmed to improve your mood. You will smile and they will smile back." - Tim O'Brien
Geísa Dutra is internationally acclaimed as a recitalist and concerto soloist, having performed in England, Belgium, Germany, Canada, the United States, and her native Brazil. Her recordings include Brazilian and Spanish Piano Works; Chopin, Preludes; El Ultimo Tango, Six Tangos by Astor Piazzolla and The Spanish Piano, her latest release. She has also recorded for National Public Radio in the United States and for national radio and television stations in Brazil.

UNCLE BONSAI PRESENTS: ANDY'S BIRTHDAY BASH! w/Uncle Bonsai and special guest: Electric Bonsai Band, Scott Katz, and The Go Janes!
It's been a long winter and now . . . it's the return of Uncle Bonsai. It's the first concert of 2024 and, to celebrate coming together, and Andrew's birthday, they're having a concert celebration. It's Uncle Bonsai, doing songs from all their albums, the Seven Sins, Seven Wonders, Seven Dwarfs, song cycle, AND perhaps a new song or two . . . we'll see.
But, more than that, it's gonna be a party with special guests The Go Janes, featuring Arni, Patrice, and the wonderful Kathleen Tracy, singer/songwriter Scott Katz, and Electric Bonsai Band (it's not electric, it's not a band. It's actually Andrew solo . . . different songs, same guitar!)
Limited seating, great sound, free parking!

Welcome to the Music Downloads section of the store. Over the next few months, we're planning on having download options for most of our releases, starting with the latest. For now, songs will be available only as mp3 files, at 256 kb/s bitrate. Entire albums will be compressed into single zipped folders. Let us know if you think a different format would work better.
In addition to our regular catalog, here's where we'll be releasing those rare tracks, unreleased recordings, your "missing song" requests . . . We'll try to have something new each month . . . maybe even some of those live Uncle Bonsai recordings we've talked about for so long!
We've been releasing recordings since 1991 and we're incredibly proud of the music we've been able to offer. Still, we realize that there are other discs out there and, every once in a while, one comes along that we feel deserves some extra attention. Maybe it's something by Miles & Karina, who released their first disc on Yellow Tail but have gone on to produce some other wonderful recordings; maybe it's Christine Lavin, who has an overflowing catalog of great music released long before she joined us.
Right now, we're offering copies of David Lange's: Almost Home, an amazing instrumental release that Uncle Bonsai's been using as its pre-show and intermission music.
As with all our Yellow Tail releases, we stand behind our recommendations and offer a full refund should you not like what you purchase...take a chance, you have nothing to lose!
"Premieres," the brand new release from classical guitarist Hilary Field, features new music by contemporary composers that celebrates the natural lyrical, rhythmic, and harmonic beauty of the classical guitar, offering the poetry of music for future generations. Due to be released in Fall 2015, we have a limited number of copies available now!

The third Electric Bonsai Band (Andrew Ratshin) release, 20 Seconds of Pleasure, was recorded live at Triad Studios and various venues around the country, and is a collection of 20-Second songs (so named because they take only 20 seconds to perform), 40-Second songs (similar to 20-Second songs but.... well, you know.. .40 seconds long), and the bonus "Doug" song, "Doug's First Job."
DOWNLOADABLE VERSION: On September 28th, Arni is saying goodbye to Uncle Bonsai at a celebration concert in Seattle. Below is the list of songs, with a little information about each recording.
